Low Impact Development (LID) is an alternative to traditional site design, incorporating water treatment structures into the landscape and building footprint. This is GRHC’s third course in the Green Roof Accreditation Program. This new course will provide participants with an overview of waterproofing and drainage construction and maintenance for green roof assemblies. It lays out technical vocabulary and materials and presents detailed design solutions and implementation best management practices for waterproofing and drainage in green roofs. Tuition: $399

October 20-24, 2008: Arboricultural Training Program: A Tree School for Individuals Entering the Field of Arboriculture
Location: Bartlett Lab, Charlotte
A five day tree-climbing school that will teach safety and proper care of regional species as well as the fundamentals of climbing. The course will include classroom and field instruction by experienced tree climbers and industry representatives. Much of the course time will be spent in trees, learning climbing techniques.

This biennial conference will include research presentations, restoration case studies, industry exhibits, networking opportunities, and tours of local stream restoration projects.
