About ASLA:
Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the national professional association representing landscape architects. Beginning with 11 original members, ASLA has grown to some 17,000 members and 48 chapters, representing all 50 states, U.S. territories, and 68 countries around the world. ASLA promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice and sustainable design through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.

NCASLA is proud to announce one of its members being appointed as Deputy Secretary for Transit for North Carolina Department of Transportation. Paul was the keynote speaker at the 2010 Spring Conference in Wilmington, NC and his topic “Active Living by Design- the Landuse and Transportation Connection” energized the audience with factual studies, research methodologies and strategic design applications of civic spaces and places. His unbridled passion for the profession shows in his works in the design of meaningful places through the landuse and transportation connection. Among his many professional commitments, he served as the national President for ASLA in 2002.
