This professional will provide design and management support for the maintenance and improvement of an 1,100 acre campus. The selected candidate will design and/or manage landscape projects; coordinate the work of outside design professionals; coordinate/inspect the landscape portion of large construction projects; develop, implement, and maintain design, construction, and maintenance guidelines; assist in the management of the Grounds Services Department; and contribute to the University Master Plan. Position reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities Services/Grounds Services. LEED Certification is desirable. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university. Preferred experience includes five years beyond college in landscape operations, maintenance, and/or design including project administration/construction. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with good people and communication skills. Requires bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment and one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience, as well as licensure to practice architecture or landscape architecture by the North Carolina Board of Architecture or the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects. Request for Proposals – Carpenter Park – Town of Cary posted 10.08.11
The Town of Cary has funding to complete a Master Plan for the Carpenter Park – a neighborhood park. This 16-acre park site is located on the southeast corner of Louis Stephens Drive and Morrisville Carpenter Road. The Town received PARTF funding to purchase the property and needs to begin development of the property by June 2014 in order to meet the requirements of the grant.
Public art will be part of the project. It is the Town’s intent to hire an artist that will coordinate with the design team during the master plan process to integrate public art at the park. The selected design team will need to coordinate with the artist.
For this proposal the Town of Cary is requesting both Master Planning Services and Construction Documentation Services for the park. It is anticipated that whoever completes the Master Plan would then be awarded under a separate contract the Construction Document Services phase.
Proposals will be received by the Town of Cary at the office of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, 316 N.
