Subcommittee on Oversight of Occupational Licensing Boards

The NC Legislature directed the Joint Legislative Program Evaluation Oversight committee to include in the Program Evaluation Division (PED) work plan for 2013 - 2015 an evaluation of the structure, organization, operation of the various independent occupational licensing boards as defined by G.S. 93B-1.  The PED identified 55 Occupational Licensing Agencies that were evaluated, including the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects(NCBLA).  Unfortunately the PED identifiedNCBLA as one of 12 occupational licensing agencies for further review.  Below may review the historical information, along with the latest update.

The proposed changes to the stormwater management rules excludes Landscape Architects from the 15A NCAC 02H .1043 FAST TRACK PERMITTING PROCESS: AUTHORIZATION TO CONSTRUCT and 15A NCAC 02H .1044 FAST TRACK PERMITTING PROCESS: FINAL PERMIT. To Review 
State officials will host three public hearings on the proposed changes to state stormwater management rules on March 7, 21 and 23. The changes are proposed to meet the requirements of G.S. 150B-21.3A "Periodic Review and Expiration of Existing Rules" and Session Law 2013-82 "Fast-Track Permitting for Stormwater Management Systems." The public hearings are being hosted by the N.C. Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources on behalf of the state Environmental Management Commission. The hearings start at 6 p.m. at the following locations:
  • March 7 - New Bern-Craven County Public Library, 400 Johnston St., New Bern
  • March 21 - Charles Mack Citizens Center, 215 N. Main St., Mooresville
  • March 23 - Ground Floor Hearing Room, Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh
Registration for speakers begins at 5:30 p.m. Audio of the hearings will be recorded.
