Please join NC State Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning in welcoming our first speaker Simon Bussiere, Associate Professor, Graduate Chair, and Academic Director of Landscape Architecture at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and principal at LANDMASS.

Many of today's landscape architecture students and emerging professionals will retire around 2070, and Simon asks them to consider how to design for that future! In his talk, From Concept to Assembly, he'll explore the messy, essential process of forming design concepts and share lessons from his practice and his innovative approach to teaching. His work spans urban ecology, community planning, transit-oriented development, public landscapes, and resilience. His forthcoming book, Forming Concepts: Practical Foundations and Frameworks for the Future, arrives in 2027.
