Unfortunately, the building process and the usage of the built environment destroys the soil microbiome with compaction, pollution, pesticides, and depletion of organic matter.
Soil Genomics, like a DNA test, provides a better understanding of soil microbial communities and their symbiotic relationship with trees. This knowledge can help to restore healthy soils for trees including promoting beneficial microorganisms and improving soil structure and nutrient availability. Healthy soils also increase carbon sequestration and mitigate climate change.
