Be a kid again and play kickball with the Charlotte Section on Tuesday, November 29, between 11:30 am-1:30 pm in Coulwood Park.
This casual event is scheduled during the typical lunch timeframe, so bring your lunch or dine-on host-provided snacks and play ball!
Engineers, Architects, and other allied professionals are welcome.
The North Carolina Irrigation Contractors’ Licensing Board (NCICLB) is looking for a NCASLA member to serve a three-year term as NCASLA’s representative on the Board.
The North Carolina Irrigation Contractors’ Licensing Board was established by legislation on January 1, 2009. The Board oversees the licensing of Irrigation Contractors in North Carolina. The purpose of licensure is to protect the public health, safety and welfare, and to promote the efficient use of water.

The Triangle Section of ASLA is joining the Building Enclosure Council & American Institute of Architects to host a free educational lecture on Thursday, November 17 at 12:00 PM.
The lecture will be presented by Hydrotech and is titled, “Add Resiliency to the Roof: Vegetated Roofs and Blue Roofs.”
There is an opportunity to attend the lecture virtually or in-person. You can select your preferred option during registration.
This event is eligible for 1 (one) hour of CE through AEC Daily.
I hope you all have been enjoying the changing of the seasons. Internally, our Executive Committee is also preparing for some changes. Existing members will be rolling into new positions, and we will also be excitedly welcoming new members! Next month there will even be a new President.
Due to the tropical storm, Parking Day at NC State has been rescheduled for Friday, October 21, from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The spots will be located at the intersection of Research Dr. and Main Campus Dr. on NCSU Centennial Campus.
We are starting to plan for the Triangle Holiday Social in early December. Stay tuned!
I cannot believe that summer is about over. I hope you all been able to enjoy yours. The Executive Committee did not meet in September, and our next meeting will be October 13. Even though we did not meet as a group, we have still been working on a few items.

The Executive Committee uses these results to shape the strategy and approach throughout the year. We thought it was important to share some of the emerging trends with you.
North Carolina ASLA has a strong membership and the demographics of that membership are ever changing, we are committed to addressing the issues that you see as most important.
Here are some of the results that we found interesting.
In the 2022 Member Survey, you noted your top priorities are getting back to in person activities. You said you also want to see more concise virtual CEU options including a virtual conference option. Please fill out this brief survey to help us plan events in 2023 that serve you.
Planning continues for the 2023 Southeast Regional Conference (SERC) including our Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina contingents. In case you missed it, a "Save the Dates" notification went out last month and can be found here.
The conference is themed "Crossroads: Paths to Resilience" and will be held in Atlanta, Georgia at the Loews Hotel April 23-25.
