Meet the 2025 - 2026 NCASLA President!

Paul Kuhn is your incoming President for NCASLA and we are so excited for the year he has planned. Learn more about Paul below!

As a licensed landscape architect, I recently attended this year's National Conference in New Orleans. While getting my badge, I realized I could display the 25-year ribbon as an ASLA member. It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed since I started working at my current employer in Cary, NC, over 20 years ago. I am now the capital planning manager for Cary, overseeing planning and budgeting for parks, recreation, and cultural arts facilities.

Before joining Cary, I worked in the private sector in Pennsylvania for about four years, collaborating with local communities and developers. I graduated from Kansas State University, where I earned a degree in landscape architecture and a minor in Planning. I enjoy working on a variety of projects that serve the public, from maintaining existing facilities to planning for future needs. Throughout my career, I have contributed to parks, greenways, sports venues, public safety facilities, and other government projects.

I haven't always been active in NCASLA. Soon after I moved to North Carolina, Brian Starkey asked if I would be interested in participating. At that time, I had a young family and couldn't. However, during Covid, work slowed down, and I started volunteering. I've really enjoyed getting to know more Landscape Architects from across the state. Hopefully, I'll get to meet you if I haven’t all already at some of the events planned for this upcoming year.
