For all who submitted for NCASLA Awards this spring, we apologize that the wait for word has been a long one. Award winners have been notified and we are working diligently in the face of ever-changing COVID restrictions to bring to you a proper celebration of those winning firms, project work, and individuals and their efforts.
We are always looking for those of you who would like to be more involved with the state chapter and who are looking for ways to get introduced to the types of volunteer service that members can offer and that we on the Chapter Executive Committee appreciate so very much. If the itch to serve has found its way into your psyche, please let us know and we can put that energy to good use as a part of our Conference and Awards Committee.
NCASLA is issuing a Call for Proposals for conference that takes place from May 19-21, 2022 at the Hotel Ballast in Wilmington, NC. We invite landscape architects, academics, allied professionals and vendors to the profession to submit proposals that fit this year’s conference theme. Please submit your proposal via our online form by midnight, November 19, 2021.
An iAdvocate alert was sent on August 30 requesting our members respond to their representative asking to have the language of HB 496 The Tree Ordinance bill removed from the budget.
This bill doesn’t allow Municipalities from creating a tree ordinance which in turn protects our states magnificent trees.
